Do You Want the "Thrill of Your Life?"

Jack here... Just on my way home from one of the most remote inhabited islands in the Pacific... and turning my focus to Nepal and our next Himalaya Helicopter Expeditions.

Now coming up in a couple months.

It's easy for your life to get stale... stagnant...predictable. No matter how much you've done, seen, earned, or accomplished. No matter how many awards you've received. It all blends into your routine, normal daily life.

And no matter who you are and what you've done -- and I know some of you have done things that are cool, daring, edgy -- still, this one is hard to top.

Soaring to the highest mountains in the world -- in a helicopter. Unbelievable.

Yes, even for me. If you know anything about my life, you know that I've managed to do some things that make people shake their heads. (Some, even I can barely believe.)

It's because afterwards they seem surreal, and frankly there are some I would not even consider attempting again.

Himalaya Helicopter is different.  How is it different?

1. First, I never get past the thrill. I've done this with groups 7 times now -- and every time it is just as much of a thrill. Maybe even more so.

2. Every time, I'm just as excited, filled with anticipation and I just can't wait to go do it again.

3. There is such beauty and grandeur -- it's overwhelming with being so close and so high --
over 25,000 feet hovering around these spectacular mountains. Yet, knowing you are perfectly safe.

4. We've had participants join us on repeat expeditions. They bring back their family and friends to share and re-experience these breathtaking, pristine natural wonders.

5. Lastly, it has got to be the safest thrilling experience I've ever had. I might have put myself in harm's way (especially when I was younger) -- but would only take others on adventures that are clearly safe. These are state-of-the-art mountain rescue helicopters with the best pilots in the world.

That's why we've had participants join us on repeat expeditions. They bring back their spouse, grown children and grandchildren, and friends to share and re-expereince it.

Enough words for now. Here are photos that I've taken myself from our helicopter. Just imagine it... make it real. It will blow your mind. Then join us. There are two dates this fall.

No hiking or trekking. Anyone in normal good health can do this. It's a memory of a lifetime.

Email me and let's talk next week when I'm home:  jack@wheelerexpeditions.

Blue Skies!

Jack

Above is a view of Everest no one gets to see – the entire “Western Cwm” above the Khumbu Icefall, with the full Southwest Face of Everest on the left and straight ahead its sister peak of Lhotse, the world’s 4th highest mountain at 27,940 feet.

No one, that is, except for those who’ve been with me on my prior Himalaya Helicopter Expeditions.  (Oh, if you have gone with us on HHE, get in touch, I have something to share with you.)

Along with Brandon Wheeler, we are leading this extraordinary expedition in October and November.

This is beyond any doubt the single greatest one-week adventure it’s possible to have on earth right now.

The mark of a true adventure is that there’s no way to really explain it –
you have to experience it yourself to understand.

Here’s a group of my fellow adventurers who understand – standing at
the base of Makalu, the 5th highest mountain in the world at 27,838 feet.

Wheeler Expeditions Group from 2017

What you’re looking at the entire ridge line of the Kanchenjunga Massif is above 26,000 feet. What’s even more astounding is that no one has seen what you’re seeing before from this perspective – from a helicopter 23,000 feet high.

Most helicopters don’t fly remotely close to that height – except that our new specialized high-altitude Eurocopters can, and do safely. Our pilots are the best high-altitude pilots in the world.

Kanchenjunga Main, 3rd highest mountain in the world, 8,586 meters/28,169 ft
Here, below, is Dhaulagiri (Dazzling White Girl in Sanskrit). Perfectly named, don't you think?!
Dhaulagiri North and East Face

Dhaulagiri is the 7th highest mountain in the world at 8,167 meters/26,788 feet.

We turn right here to traverse the French Pass to land at the Dhaulagiri Base Camp below the West Face:
Our expedition from 2016 at the Dhaulagiri Base Camp

The legendary trek in all the Himalayas is to the Annapurna Sanctuary, a 13,000 foot-high basin surrounded by a gigantic cirque of Himalayan peaks.

And suddenly, there we are, in the heart of the Sanctuary with Annapurna I looming in front of us… in our high-altitude Eurocopter.

Actually, this is but a glimpse of what we’re doing as there’s so much more.

Believe it or not, we do all this in just one week – we meet
in Kathmandu, Nepal. It's Saturday to Saturday.

Oct 26-Nov 02, 2019  or  Nov 02-Nov 09, 2019
