Subject: Friend, this is what blog success requires

Hey Friend,

Blog success is tricky...

It requires a lot of pieces working and fitting simultaneously.

If there's one thing that matters, though, it's more important than ever...

It's not popularity...

It's not being tech-savvy...

It's not even having a ton of money...

I'll share the answer soon. But first let's review the bigger picture of running a successful blog.

Maintaining a successful blog can be a far more difficult process than just getting it started. This is because there
are so many different factors which can contribute to the
success of a blog.

Some of these factors include the subject of your blog, the
popularity of your blog, and even the aesthetic of your
blog. Additionally, the ability to properly promote your blog
and reach a large audience of interested readers will have a profound impact on your blog's success.

Although there is no one simple formula for creating and
maintaining a successful blog, when you implement some basic tips, your blog's success will be that much more likely.

Here is that one thing that matters most...

All successful blogs have this in common:

They are publishing posts on a consistent basis.

Is there more to the story?

Absolutely.

But this is a cornerstone of all successful blogs - past, present, and future.

This could be once a week, twice a week, once a month, or even three times a week.

You have to find what works for you - something you can unashamedly commit to.

Getting your posts done periodically forces you to be disciplined, and lets others know they can rely on you. Reliability is huge in today's online marketplace.

The importance of posting new blog entries on a regular basis
cannot be underestimated. This is vital because regular
postings offer dedicated blog visitors an incentive to keep
returning to the blog.

Readers may visit a blog originally by
chance but become committed to returning regularly based on your content. A large readership is also often attributed to a strong email list (more on this in future emails).

If you allow your blog to become stagnant, the readers
do not have motivation to keep coming back to the blog.
However, if there are new posts on a regular basis, visitors
are likely to return to the blog often in anticipation of seeing
what new posts you have.

How Long Should My Blog Post Be?

The length as well as the depth of a blog post can vary
considerably based on the subject of the blog and the
expectations of the target audience. However, in many cases
even a relatively short blog entry may be enough to keep readers interested.

This can be useful when you are unable to provide in-depth
posts, but in the long run, blog readers are looking for a
certain density of material, and will likely expect the blog
to be updated with new posts regularly.

Know Thy Audience

Another important part of running a successful blog is that you
understand your audience.

Most successful blogs focus on a rather exclusive niche
which draws a unique set of visitors. By keeping the
information you post in the blog related to a specific niche, you'll go a long way in ensuring your audience will remain
interested.

However, the subject matter is not the only important aspect
related to understanding your target audience.

You should also be well aware of the type of information that
your blog readers are seeking and the medium through which they prefer
to receive that info. This is important
because some blog readers may enjoy lengthy pieces while
others may prefer posts which are brief and to-the-point.

Still other blog visitors may prefer to have posts provided as
bullet points in an easy-to-read manner. Providing the
info in a way in which visitors can process the
information easily
is as important as providing quality
information.

Implement Changes Carefully

An additional key to maintaining a successful blog is taking the time to properly evaluate the effects of any changes you make.

Whenever you decide to make a change to your blog you
should carefully evaluate the effects this change has on
your blog traffic. This is critical because a blog which is
already successful can be doomed to failure if you make a
change that is not appreciated by your regular visitors, and
does not address the concerns of new readers.

To avoid this potential problem, you should be careful to only
make one change at a time, and allow ample time to reflect as well as read comments from readers.

By following these simple guidelines, you will go a long way in creating and maintaining a more successful blog.
