Finally Winning Against The Evil Bots!
Hey there!
I hope you've had a great week!
I thought I'd just update you on my fight against the evil Empire... I mean bots.
After installing BruteProtect that I told you about last time I finally seem to be winning! Woohoo!
You can download it for free here:
==> http://wordpress.org/plugins/bruteprotect/
Up to now the plugin has blocked 302 malicious attempts to login to one of my sites!
I also installed it on my other 9 sites and upped the security level of WordFence on all sites too.
And I'm very glad I did, because most of them now have over 200 malicious attempts recorded too!
Anyway, I updated all my plugins, themes and WordPress itself at the same time.
Even with the help of WPPipeline it was a mind-numbingly boring task that took me about 3 hours all told...
But it's done now and I'm a whole lot happier. I'm still getting the odd weird lockout for random usernames, but I'm not too worried for now.
Incidentally, WordPress 3.7 updates itself with minor updates automatically, so no more updating it manually until 3.8. Woohoo! :)
(Plugins and themes will still need to be updated manually)
Oh and make sure you turn off automatic updates if you have any custom code in WordPress core files or if you're worried about plugin conflicts.

In other news, my heart has been very jumpy this week and I've decided that I'm going to take a break from product creation and launches for a bit...
Unfortunately I've been battling health challenges ever since my last launch, which has held me back and the stress of product launches is not really going to do me any favours...
So... I've been learning about Facebook marketing.
I've picked a passionate niche that I'm knowledgeable about and I'm going to build a fan page and learn about Facebook ads and monetisation.
A lot of people seem to be having great success with Facebook, so I'm going to find out if it's all hype or not.
Plus learning FB marketing will lead to opportunties in the offline world to help businesses set up their own fan pages, so there is method in my madness.
Mwahahahahahaha!
If you'd be interested in getting updates on my progress then just hit reply and answer yes.
Answer YES!!! if you're very interested :)
Until next time!
Have a great weekend!

She started out as a programmer many moons ago, before the Internet as we know it today was born… No, not when dinosaurs roamed the Earth! She's not that old! How rude! :P
She's been working online since late 2011. She doesn't claim to know it all. She's still learning too, but she wants to share her knowledge with you and help you succeed online.
She's an ethical marketer and loves helping people to reach their goals. When she sends out a promotion it will always be well thought out, even if it means sending it a day or two after launch.
She will investigate it properly beforehand, get hold of a review copy or buy it herself. She wouldn't recommend anything that she didn't believe in or wouldn't use herself.
Her aim is to save you time by doing the research for you, to make it easier for you to figure out if a particular product is likely to be able to help you reach your goals.
