Nature Shapes
There's something glorious about the shape of your own nature. It calls for investigation. What idea fills you with passion? What stories infuse you with curiosity?
Every creative experience brings chances to engage and enjoy the creative nature, even navigating territory that is strange, daunting, or painful.
Nevertheless the tendency in our society is to let the responsibilities of life squeeze out chances to participate with this creative nature. Without attention, appreciation dwindles. So much zest is lost.
Stepping into a beautiful, unfamiliar setting, seeing through new eyes, soaking up the natural world, getting physically energized, stretching, hiking, and immersing yourself in focused creative time - these are ways to regain the zest. A creative getaway can offer the shape you need.
Indeed, the creative getaway is one of the most rewarding things in my life. That is why I've begun framing full day, overnight, and weekend experiences for writers, creators, and humans who want to tend their whole being. (See below for hiking, meditation, yoga, and other ways to rejuvenate your creativity.)
For the first time, I'm partnering with Clark College to create an overnight writing experience at Menucha Conference Center in the Columbia Gorge.
I would love to fill this retreat with Wildfire Writers of all genders whose hearts and minds have already created enriching community. It's a rustic retreat - bring your sleeping bag; but expect to be shepherded in beauty and creativity. Register now to show the college that we are dedicated to writing in beautiful spaces together. Sign up for Writing in the Gorge.
That said, ReTreat of Yoga, Writing & Ocean for Women September 6-8 is full! It's now a two-day retreat, but I do have a waiting list for this intimate immersion which includes 1-night options.
If you love discovering your rich, inner, creative nature, I want to remind you that now is the time to do so, whatever shape you find yourself in, dear creator in the world.
