We have been busy testing if Power BI can access the sorts of multi level data models we develop.
It turns out that it can.
As a side result we have discovered that Power BI can also read MicroStrategy data models.
This means that anyone who is trained in Power BI can build applications for our models and MicroStrategy models.
In this blog post we give you an initial introduction into how this can be done.
It includes the ability to incrementally update just those partitions of historical data that have changed.
This means we have all the skills needed to query multi level data models from very highly summarized information all the way down to the transactions in the data warehouse.
We also have the skills needed to incrementally update the summaries being maintained in the Power BI Data Sets on Azure.
