A few blog posts ago we sent you blog post called "BIDA0054 – BC Direct Query Using PowerBI Cloud Demo".
This blog post showed you the details of how to perform direct query on a Business Central On Premise database from Power BI in the cloud.
Today we are very pleased to follow this up with a demonstration of a GL Account Beginning of Time Balance dashboard.
This is one of the most requested dashboards in finance data warehouses because many ERP Systems, like Business Central, do not maintain GL Account Balances across time.
In many finance data warehouses the GL Account Balances across time have to be calculated in the ETL System.
So today?
We are very pleased to show you how such a complex dashboard can be delivered using Power BI.
In this demo Power BI in the cloud is accessing the demo Business Central Database on a development server in our offices, using the Microsoft Gateway.
You can do exactly the same with your Business Central On Premise database. Or, indeed, any other database.
This demonstration was a long time coming, and it shows that it is possible to deliver virtually any dashboard from Business Central On Premise.
