Como estas? I had a fun filled week, how about you?

Have put together a new package, and brochures and we got to prepare for the start of our next tour tomorrow. Yoanis is really looking forward to it, he really is in his element when he is on a tour. His eyes lit up, and he's so excited sharing stories and the history of Cuba. His energy is truly infectous.

Meantime, we’ve seen a few comments lately about Cuba’s political landscape and whether you going there supports the regime and the impact your travels have, so I wanted to share a few things you may not know about Simply Cuba Tours.

We are a Cuban - Australian Couple. My partner, Yoanis and I started this company with the vision of creating a company of being a force of good. Our tours provide the livelihood for many, like our Accommodation providers, drivers, artists, paladars all around the island. They are not just providers but our friends and family.

Yoanis is Cuban born and bred, he lives there. We feel the pain of those separated, we have spent the most of the last 3 years apart.

We talk to our team daily. Follow their lives. The good, the bad, the sad and the happy parts. We hear their struggle, we also experience it - mostly Yoanis, I do so vicariously.

Tourism is desperately needed in Cuba. It provides an income, funds to be able to import more food into the country, and many tourists (like our travellers and myself) also bring much needed medicine along…etc. If you choose carefully who you are booking with, you can also ensure the locals benefit the most from your trip, like booking to stay in a casa for example rather than government-ran hotels. 

We know what life is like on the ground and that’s why we work so hard to create amazing tours and experiences for our travellers that also give back to the local community. So we hope one day you will join us...
