G'day Friend,

Did I mention I am on a count down? Finally got to book my flight! Woohoo. Can't wait to bring you live updates, pictures and sit reps... 10 weeks to go, but compared to what's behind us that will go like a blink of an eye!
Was very excited to see the update from Cubadabate - you can check it here. It outlines that reopening will start from 25 October 2021, sooner than the 15 November date previously advised. They have put in new systems to allow payment by card instead of using cash. Will be interested to see how that unfolds with the previous card restrictions. I feel US banks will still not be supported, just a hunch based on some of their recent actions I experienced... So please ensure you have back up of various cards and cash. Let your bank know you are traveling and ask them also whether your card is supported whilst you are over there.
Free WiFi will be available at the airport for 30 mins. Air France, Iberia, Air Europa, Turkish Airlines and charter flights with Evelop have resumed their flights, Cubana de Aviación will resume routes to Spain and Argentina soon.
10 international airports are ready for the reopening of the Cuban borders on 15 November although it is planned to be a staggered reopening. The mandatory quarantine of international travelers upon arrival in the country is eliminated as of 7 November for fully vaccinated arrivals as long as you can provide your vaccine passport.
Let's hope it all unfolds in a safe manner supporting travelers and Cuban alike.
Meantime, I was admiring more of Yoanis' birds. So it inspired me to write about enjoying these beauties in the way that conserves their environment and a few tips on what to avoid when animals and tourism collide. Very excited to see it in EBubble magazine.
