Hola Friend,
Como estas? I just realised I am a day late.. this week is flying! In fact i also just realised that it's April tomorrow! So quick...
I went to a tourism event yesterday, and am very excited to hear that people are searching for holiday options that provide a deeper immersion in a place and are wanting to make a difference. Previous findings were about intentions, but now with actual bookings tour operators are definitely seeing that shift. It warms my heart!
Actually really excites me, because I know that the people of Cuba are very ready for tourism to return. Guides, drivers, casas, paladars, artists had it tough for the past two years. It is great to see things slowly re-opening.
In you didn't hear about our mission yet, it is to support the Cuban people. Which is why we are offering sustainable tours, and not hotel stays. How does that help the Cuban people? By utilising their services and paying them a living wage/fair prices. We are a stickler for that!
We have had the question whether Cuba is safe. It is one of the safest countries I have ever been to. In fact I actually feel much safer walking the streets there, even at night, than I am in Australia.
We also had the questions about flights from UK. Options there are limited at the moment. You can go from London to Havana or Manchester to Varadero. In saying that... Havana is the start of all tours. 😉
