Dear Friend,

When you help an entrepreneur lift themselves out of poverty, you transform not only one life, but whole families and even communities.

How does that happen? Because Five Talents Savings Groups are gatherings for fellowship and learning. Members save, build businesses, and work together to address all sorts of challenges.

Thanks to support from friends like you, women in Rwanda learn sustainable agriculture in addition to business skills. This training empowers women to develop their agency to lift themselves out of poverty and feed their families.

Danielle from Rwanda is one of those women. She joined a Group because she had to find a way to support her family after her husband lost his job.

Using the business and agricultural knowledge she gained, Danielle started a sorghum business. She buys the grain directly from farmers, processes it, and sells it for a profit in the market. She also produces and sells sorghum beer, a soft drink similar to root beer.

The success of her business is enabling improvements to her home, which benefits her entire family. By being part of a Savings Group, she has also gained confidence and a supportive community.

“Through the group, I learned to work hard, to socialize, and to pray. I used to be so shy and couldn’t speak in front of others, but now I can even lead a Bible Study!”
