Subject: Friend, your skills can make a huge difference. Will you volunteer?

Dear Friend,

I’m so proud of the enormous impact volunteers have at Five Talents!

A huge amount of what enables Five Talents to work in places like Burundi and S. Sudan is our vibrant volunteer program. Volunteers add passion and skills to our team! And they help us stretch every dollar to accomplish so much.

You don’t have to go as far as Africa to make a difference for the brave women and men in our programs. You can volunteer in your own home or in our office near Washington, DC!

Here are a few of the ways you can lend an important hand:

  • Research. A universe of foundations is out there waiting to fund Five Talents’ work - we just need to learn about every opportunity. If you’re attracted to learning and good at research, your help in exploring this universe would be a tremendous boost to our team. This can be done at home. Please help out - having someone in this role can be a game-changer!

  • Media relations. Five Talents achieves amazing results, but not enough people know about them. Strategically placed information can make a big difference. Of course, this can be done remotely. If you have contacts in the media or are skilled in media relations, we’d love to talk to you!

  • Writing. Believe it or not, there is still an important place for beautiful handwriting in this digital world! A handwritten note can go miles towards building Five Talents’ ongoing relationships. This can be done at your own dining room table. If you have good penmanship, we’d love to have your help!

Thank you for considering being a Five Talents volunteer. Your help could turn out to be the reason we connect with an opportunity that changes thousands of lives!

With heartfelt gratitude,

PS If you’re in the DC area, I’d like to invite you to a very special event happening next Wednesday, June 8th from 6:30PM to 8PM at St. Francis Episcopal Church (10033 River Road, Potomac, MD). It's a virtual tour of our program in Kenya! This interactive, video experience will enable us to "travel" to our program and meet some of the entrepreneurs whose lives have been changed thanks to the ministry you have made possible. The event is free and open to the public. Feel free to contact Sarah Herndon if you have any questions at SarahHerndon@fivetalents.org.
