Subject: An uplifting board meeting

Dear friend,

We just held Five Talents board meetings last week, and we were able to gather in person for the first time in 18 months. What a joy! It was sad to hear of the challenges many of our worldwide partners have faced: lockdowns and local pastors dying from the pandemic, war, ebola, drought, and floods. Despite the challenges, it was amazing to hear of their perseverance and progress:

  • Over 262,000 cumulative savings group members since our programs began.

  • New adult literacy and savings groups continuing to form this year.

  • A new vehicle that made it possible to expand the geographical reach of one of our newest programs.

  • 16 new group leaders, including local clergy, trained in trauma healing to help them lead others.

  • Piloting mobile data collection for group surveys in two dioceses so that we can better measure the impacts of the programs and report to you how your generosity is being multiplied.

During these challenging times, what a wonderful report of progress that strengthens our hope.

Until next week,

Dale Stanton-Hoyle
