Subject: A Prayer for the Sudans

Dear Friend,

As I write this message, the war in Sudan is escalating. That may seem like it’s very far away, but the war is impacting our program in Renk, South Sudan in many ways. It is difficult to access food markets since Renk is very close to the Sudan border, which is now closed, and imports of supplies from Khartoum have stopped. Any remaining goods are very high in price and inaccessible to most people. Recent severe flooding in the region have only added to the challenges.

This also means it is difficult for our program to provide training, as the workshop costs have become high.

Our program leader, Ajak, in the diocese of Renk, has requested prayer for their communities. You can also listen to his requests by clicking this video.

“Pray for peace and forgiveness in the country of Sudan. Pray for the program work in South Sudan for the people in new Savings Groups are facing a lot of challenges. Pray for the communities that have been relocated due to persistent flooding. Pray to relieve the hardships so people may regain access to food.”

Please join Ajak in this prayer, and for peace and normalcy to return to Sudan and South Sudan.

Until next time,

Dale Stanton-Hoyle
