Subject: A Different Kind of Graduation

Hello friend,

Last week you should have received an email or letter about the profound significance of "graduation" for our Five Talents entrepreneurs. Many of our participants describe becoming literate and numerate (understanding basic math skills) as having been blind and finally being able to see. I used to sell products and was regularly cheated (at the market) but now they don't do it because I can see!

The foundation for starting new businesses is functional literacy and numeracy. Before Savings Group participants can learn business skills, many must do the hard work of graduating from a literacy class. It is an achievement of great pride for our entrepreneurs. And the benefits go beyond making a business successful; it means being able to make appointments at a health clinic, reading a road map, and of course making sure you are not getting cheated at the market!

There are so many vulnerable people who need these skills, and so many remote communities we have not been able to reach yet. Would you help us to get to those places of greatest need?

If you gave a gift recently to empower more graduates, thank you for your generosity! If you haven't, please consider partnering with us to help more men and women acquire the skills they need for a life outside of extreme poverty.

With gratitude,

Liz Ha

Director of Strategic Partnerships
