Hi Friend,

Happy Labor Day Weekend! I must admit, it was surreal to write those words. On a virtual meeting with my daughter's teacher and few other parents, someone said it feels more like March 198th. So true! But since it actually is Labor Day, there are a few good sales going on that I wanted to mention:

  • Avocado Green Mattress: $200 off mattresses, plus other items on sale. They're organic, highly rated and also MadeSafe certified (a very high standard). Here's more info. I love ours and just ordered one for my daughter. Code: laborday200.

  • Chili: $200 off any sleep system. I'm borderline obsessed with my Chilipad. This was such a worthwhile investment in my sleep, and I wish I'd gotten one sooner (here's a video where I talk a little bit more on this). Code: 3dayweekend.

  • Food52* - reusable silicone straws included with the purchase of these stackable glasses, and lots of other good stuff on sale in the Shop!

  • Several items on my Favorites* page are on sale through Amazon, including the AirDoctor (the air purifiers we use) and the Instant Pot.

Here are a few things I wanted to share from this past week:

Mindset: Listen to Your Body

Listen to your body

One thing I've learned in all my research and experimenting is that good health is often a process that involves figuring out what works for each of us individually. That includes paying attention to symptoms that we're so accustomed to--that we barely even notice them. Those are usually clues. Take a look at my post for some examples.

I try to start off with diet and lifestyle adjustments to get to the root of the issue -- and eventually eliminate it. Have you ever done something similar to feel better and avoid a long-term medication? I'd love to hear about your experience!

Idea: Cut Down on Paper Towels - try these!

Five Two Wipes

I read this piece about Americans' obsession with paper towels and wanted to share an alternative that's more sustainable and works better in many cases. Here's a quick 1 min video I made on the topic.

You can check out the washable and compostable wipes we use here. They come in a pack of 10, cost about as much as a jumbo pack of paper towel, and last for a few months.

Cooking Tip: Give your Salad a Boost

Salad with watermelon radish

I've been adding watermelon radishes to our salads and loving them. They add gorgeous color, flavor and powerful nutrients. However, they have an intense flavor and are even more crunchy than a typical radish. See my post for some nutritional info and tips for incorporating them into your salads.

As always, thank you so much for reading! Wishing you a safe and healthy week ahead.

Be Well,

Jess XO
