Subject: Wayfarers ❤️ Unity Newsletter for July 27-August 2, 2020

July 27 - August 2, 2020

THIS WEEK AT THE CHAPEL

THIS PAST SUNDAY

We had a full deck this past Sunday with music by David and Karen Bacon of Sweet Charity.

And we enjoyed a wonderful, enlightening talk by Marie Dunkle about the power of vibration in our lives. Marie's crystal bowl meditation touched us in ways words cannot express.

Thank you, Karen, David, and Marie.

Marie's talk will be posted online in few days, so if you missed it, or just want to listen again, head over to the Sunday Talks section of the www.wayfarersunity.org website.

SUNDAY AUGUST 2nd

We are delighted to welcome Kim May back as our speaker for Sunday, August 2nd. In her talk "Decide to ALWAYS calibrate UP!" Kim reminds us that as the Energy of Spirit, we are free to choose where we focus our attention and that law will immediately begin to draw more thought, circumstances, & people to match that focus. She will share ways to assist us in being aware & deliberate about what we are in the process of creating.

Music will be provided by Crow Capps.

Ruth Henry is the host for this service.

The videos of the Sunday talks are generally posted on www.wayfarersunity.org within a few days of recording.

IMPORTANT CHANGE TO SUNDAY SERVICES - - RSVP REQUIRED !

For the last 7 weeks we have been meeting on the deck where we have space for 25 while still maintaining the CDC recommended spacing of 6' for persons not of the same household. While we recognize that some people do not feel safe at this time being in groups of any size, we are happy that our members generally feel safe in our "6' separation", "sanitizer provided", "masks required" environment on the deck. That said, space is limited and our attendance numbers have now maxed out our capacity. Rather than cease outdoor services, we are moving to an RSVP REQUIRED system.

If you would like to attend the Sunday Service on August 2nd, please send an email to info@wayfarersunity.org and provide the name(s) of the person(s) attending in your group and advise if you will be sitting together (members of the same household) or need to be separated. You will receive an email either confirming your reservation or advising you that the service is full and offering you the option of being on a waiting list and/or signing up in advance for the August 9th service.

The Board thanks you for your support and positive energy as we continue to work to find safe, creative ways to serve our members.

GENERAL REMINDERS FOR SUNDAY SERVICES

The following are general reminders for Sunday Services are held on the deck.

WEATHER:

  1. It can be sunny on the deck in places so consider bringing a hat or umbrella.

  2. If we get a mist or light drizzle during the service, the service will continue. If you choose to leave, please do so calmly and quietly.

  3. If we get a solid rain, we will not move inside - the service will be terminated. Please remember that while me may be sweet, we will not melt in the rain so be conscious of maintaining the 6' social separation as you gather your belongings and calmly walk to your cars.

  4. We will send a Newsletter blast out Sunday Morning if the morning service is cancelled due to weather. So if rain seems like a possibility, please check your email before you leave home.

GENERAL:

  1. Please enter the service from the deck - not through the chapel.

  2. If you have your own mask, please put it on at your car before you enter grounds. If you need one, please get one from the red table at the deck entrance and put it on there.

  3. Hand sanitizer is provided there at the red table.

  4. There are markers on the floor and benches showing where to sit in order to maintain the 6' separation. If you don't see a spot, please ask the host.

  5. Please try to maintain the 6' separation before, during, and after the service.

  6. There are single use hand wipes available in the bathroom. After washing your hands, please use a wipe to clean the toilet handle, sink handle, door knob, and door lock before you leave the bathroom.

NEW DISCUSSION GROUP AT THE CHAPEL

Do you like to talk? Discuss? Do you like to plan for things? Then consider joining Jan Brewer August 9th from 2-4 pm on the deck of the chapel to talk about/plan for death. After all, we plan for and talk about births, graduations, weddings, home ownership, etc. Why not talk about/plan for death?

Death Cafe is an international movement in which people typically meet, drink tea, eat cake, and discuss death with only one agenda: Be an open and straightforward discussion space to talk about death with no intention to any conclusion, product, or course of action. Due to the need to wear masks in gatherings at this time, food and drink will not be served.

For more information please see www.deathcafe.com or contact Jan Brewer at 510.684.5555.

This outside event will be cancelled if it rains. RSVPs are not required, however, if you wish to be notified of cancellation due to weather, please text your RSVP to Jan at 510.684.5555.

PRAYER GROUP

For years, Mimi Nash offered her loving service receiving confidential prayer requests and sharing the appropriate information with Prayer Group members. While we will miss her loving service, we offer our own prayers for her wonderful new adventure as she moves to Hoschton to be with her family and we welcome and thank Mary Brennan for stepping into service as the point person for the Prayer Group.

The Wayfarers Prayer Group is available to hold you, a friend, or a loved one in affirmative prayer in time of need. If you wish to receive prayerful support, please contact Mary Brennan at 706.435.7613 or tazz2meg4@gmail.com. All information is treated in strictest confidence.
