| | | This past Sunday we celebrated our Annual Founders Day by revisiting Unity's Founders as well as the evolution of our Wayfarers Chapel. We also created a "give-away" to offer gratitude to all who have contributed, past and present. | | ANNUAL MEETING & BOARD ELECTIONS The Wayfarers Unity Chapel Annual Board Meeting will be held in the chapel immediately following the morning service on Sunday, November 7, 2021. In addition to reports by Board President, Ruth Henry and Treasurer, Barbara Beckham, board members will be affirmed/elected on this day.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the daily operation, fiscal soundness, direction, and policies of the chapel in accordance with the chapel by-laws. If you are interested in serving a two-year term as a member of the Board of Directors, please contact Ruth Henry in person or at 901.218.4234 no later than noon 10/24/21. | | Wayfarers Chapel is an easy-going, loving place. While we love folks to come early and visit before chapel begins, if you are running a little behind, no problem - just quietly slide in, find a seat, enjoy the message, and fellowship with other Wayfarers after the service. If it is the first Sunday of the month and you are not interested in the potluck dinner, we would still love to see you at the service. And if by chance you are ever so late you'll miss the service but can still make the potluck, please do so. Whenever and wherever we join together it is a good day! | | WEDNESDAY: YOGA on the DECK (5:15 PM) Join us for Yoga on the Deck with instructor Dana Thiele this Wednesday at 5:15 PM. Bring a mat, block, and strap if you have them - maybe a blanket a little extra padding. Class is suitable for everyone from beginners to regular practitioners. Masks and Hand Sanitizer are available by entry doors. Please keep access to front and back doorways clear. The back deck is a great place to "hang out" or visit with friends. Single and Double Seating are spaced 3' apart. If you prefer 6' spacing, please contact info@wayfarersunity.org prior to arrival. Please note, speakers and singers will not be wearing masks during their talks and performances. If you have concerns about potential exposure, please feel free to take one of the seats farther back in the chapel or enjoy the talks on-line. | SUNDAY MORNING: POTLUCK DINNER @ 11:15 AM We know that some folks have concerns about eating with others and/or sharing utensils at this time, so we are taking measures to ensure the safety of all participants at our dinners.
Dinner is served on the deck with lots of fresh air and the enlivening sounds of Estatoah Creek in a space where everyone can decide just how close or far away from others they wish to be. We DO ask that everyone use hand sanitizer each time before entering the serving line (and after if you like). Also, to help others in making healthy decisions, please place a card with the ingredients of your dish on or immediately beside your dish. | | OCTOBER 10th - DEATH CAFE @ 2 PM Death Cafe is a global movement started in the UK whose only objective is "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives."
