Wayfarers Chapel Newsletter

Sept 25 - Oct 1, 2023

THIS WEEK

TUESDAY 9/26 - WRITERS GROUP (5-6:30 PM)

Ever had a desire to share your writings with others in an open supportive environment? The Writers Group (meeting in RoseMary's Chapel) is the place for you! Age, what you write, how long you've been writing, how good you think you are - none of that matters. All that matters is that some part of you WANTS to write and be heard. See you soon!

THURSDAY 9/28 - GENTLE MAT YOGA (10-11 AM)

Yoga is a great way to center the mind and simultaneously stretch and relax the body. Join Dana Theile for Gentle Mat Yoga this Thursday at 10 AM.

THURSDAY 9/28 - DRUM CIRCLE (7-9 PM)

Drumming is a great way to take yourself everywhere from "focused and relaxed" to "pumped and energized". So grab your drum and "get happy" energy and join us this Thursday at 7 PM for another exciting drum circle at the chapel. And if you don't have a drum, you are welcome to use one of our drums or percussion instruments. Looks like great weather, so we will likely be on the deck. But Drum Circle rain or shine, so we'll see you soon!

SUNDAY 10/1 - SERVICE (10-11 AM)

Join us this Sunday for music by Crowe Capps and message by Alison Solomon. Alison's talk is "Belief and Belonging -- What's a Nice Jewish Girl Doing in a Place Like This?"

SUNDAY 10/1 - POTLUCK (Following Service)

Yep! It's Potluck day! Bring your favorite dish and appetite for good food and conversation and join us after the service for dinner on the deck. Please bring a card with the ingredients of your dish so folks can make healthy choices for themselves. (And if folks ask for the recipe, please consider adding it to the Wayfarers Recipe Collection.)

LAST WEEK

SUNDAY SERVICE - 9/24

We enjoyed music by Ruth Henry and message by Lisa Ezzard.

Lisa's message "Duality, Autumn, Death ... and All the Rest" is now available online along with Rev Dr Kate Greysen's talk from last week.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

"Fitting in and belonging are not the same thing. In fact, fitting in is one of the greatest barriers to belonging. Fitting in is about assessing a situation and becoming who you need to be in order to be accepted. Belonging, on the other hand, doesn’t require us to change who we are; it requires us to be who we are.”
