2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

If you are interested in serving on the 2025 Board of Directors for Wayfarers Chapel, please contact Board Chair Jennifer Utley no later than September 30th as the Board will be finalizing nominations and arranging the affirmation or election process in their October 2nd meeting.

GO FUND ME CAMPAIGN FOR LISA KILBY

Lisa is a talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player. Along with her husband, Filmer, they have provided music at Wayfarer's Chapel often. Lisa recently underwent major surgery at Emory Hospital in Atlanta and has since faced several subsequent hospitalizations. Unfortunately, Lisa's recovery will prevent her from working for quite some time. The financial burden is overwhelming. If you know Lisa, you know her heart is as big as her talent. She's always the first to help someone in need. Now it's our turn to help her. There are 2 ways to donate:

  1. You can send a check to Barbara Beckham, 1111 Windy Ridge Rd, Otto, NC, 28763. To remain anonymous, write your check to Barbara Beckham and she will get the funds to Lisa. Otherwise, write your check to Lisa Kilby and Barbara will make sure Lisa gets it.

  2. Use the Go Fund Me site that has been set up for Lisa here.

NORTH GEORGIA HIGHLAND GAMES

The North Georgia Highland Games will be held in Clayton, GA, this Saturday, September 28, behind the Civic Center from 9am-4pm. Look for the Mountain Muse Band while you're there. They will play sets at 10am and 2pm at this event featuring brawny athletes, food trucks, Scottish clans, and bagpipes.

KIM MAY WORKSHOP

You are invited for a special workshop with Kim May on October 27th from 11:30am-2pm in Rosemary’s Chapel. Join Kim as she shares her favorite tools for alignment, joy, and manifestation. You may want to bring a lunch to enjoy during the event. There is a $35 suggested donation but all are welcome. Please RSVP to kimatfc@gmail.com. More details can be found in this flyer.

OPELSKE

It's time for Fall leaf cleanup around the Chapel. Crews of 2-3 people are needed to cover leaf clearing each week, on Saturdays, if possible. Please sign up with Joyce Oliver (828.200.9160) or Sandy Thomas (407.786.4364)

FALLOWEEN PARTY

No, it's not a typo. Falloween is what happens when you cross Halloween with Fall festivities. In this case, Jen and Ruth are hosting a party October 20th at 3 PM at their home in Tiger for Wayfarers and friends. In addition to fun stuff like costumes, games, and pumpkin carving for kids and adults alike, there will be a chili cookoff. Well, in this case, folks can bring their favorite chili and everyone will get to taste and vote on their favorite. Details are in this flyer.

LAST WEEK

It was a beautiful Fall day to enjoy the music of Crowe Capps and hear Lisa Ezzard speak on "Fall Equinox: Contemplating the Forces of Creation and Destruction".

Lisa's talk and Crowe's music will be available online later this week.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

You don't have to be immune to differences. You just have to be tolerant and intelligent enough to respect what people believe in.
