THANKS GIVING

As we begin this holiday, holy day season, whether our days are spent with family and friends or in quiet solitude, may we all find our way to "giving thanks" for this amazing adventure we call life.

SPECIAL INVITATIONS

HOLIDAY PROGRAM - CALLING VOLUNTEERS (12/17)

It is our tradition to welcome Wayfarers who have a short reading, story, or music to share to be part of our Holiday program. If you would like to participate in this way, please contact Marie Dunkle (770.335.0968) or Katharine Brown (828.421.4178) and they will include you in the program. Please be in touch by December 3.

WRITERS GROUP READING (12/8)

Please join the Wayfarers Writers for their inaugural reading on Friday, December 8, from 7-9 pm in the chapel. A light and lively evening of words, refreshments, and merriment will be served up by the writers in your midst. Free and open to the supportive public.

WAYFARERS HOLIDAY GATHERING

The Wayfarers family will enjoy a bit of holiday cheer at the home of Barbara Beckham and Marie Dunkle on December 17th from 3-6 PM. Soft drinks, beer, and wine will be provided. Everyone should bring an appetizer and a nice ornament in a brown paper bag for a "naughty and nice" ornament exchange.

IN BRIEF

WRITERS GROUP

Next meeting 11/28 (No meeting 11/21)

The Wayfarers Writers Group is open to writers of all ages, genres, and experience levels, and is a wonderfully supportive way to share your work and grow your writing skills. Led by Sam Renken, the group meets Tuesdays from 5-6:30 pm in RoseMary's Chapel.

SUNDAY 11/26 - SERVICE (10 AM)

This Sunday we will enjoy music by Sweet Charity. We will then explore the intersection of human, artificial, and divine intelligence, and will reflect on humanity's calling in the newly arrived age of AI in Dr. Maggie Renken's message "Seeking Intelligence."

REIKI

Reiki is an amazingly gentle and effective way to manage stress and create health in your mind and body. An important thing to remember as we move into the holiday season when schedules start getting tight and stress levels rise!

If you are interested in receiving Reiki during the holiday season, please contact Ruth Henry (901.218.4234) or Marie Dunkle (770.335.0968).

DEATH CAFE

Death Cafe returns December 10th from 2-4 pm at the Chapel. This is an opportunity to speak your own experience and hear from others about all things related to death in a supportive environment. In a nod to Death Cafe's British origins, cake and tea will be served. This gathering will be facilitated by Jan Brewer (510.684.5555).

DRUM CIRCLE

The next drum circle will be in January. More details in December.

CELTIC CHRISTMAS - 2023

This Celtic Christmas celebration will be held December 9th from 4-6 PM at the Macon County Library (149 Siler Farm Rd, Franklin, NC). Last check there were still a few tickets left for this event, so if you are interested, get 'em now by emailing arts4all@dnet.net or calling 828.524.2787. Donations welcome on the day of performance.

LAST WEEK

Last Sunday we enjoyed heartfelt vocals by Katharine Brown, piano by Anne Hartupee, and a little impromptu harmony by Ruth Henry.

Rev. Dr. Kate Greysen gave us plenty to think about in her talk "If Love Is All There Is, What's With All the Rest of This Crap?"
