LAST SUNDAY AT THE CHAPEL

Sweet Charity (aka David and Karen Bacon and Marie Dunkle) provided our sing-a-long music.

The topic for this Sunday's discussion was "Inspiring People". Our discussion facilitator Ruth Henry reminded us that we are a compilation of the people and traits we have admired along the way. We then launched into a lively, heartfelt, and often humourous review of some of those people and qualities we most admire and the lessons we learned along the way.

Discussion Sundays are not recorded, but if you are looking for a thought-provoking message, check out one of the many past talks located online at Sunday Talks.

OPELSKE

The Opelske team will meet to love up the grounds this Saturday 6/5 from 9:30-noon. If you want to be notified of any change due to weather, please let Sandy Thomas (407) 786-4364 or Joyce Oliver (828) 200-9160 know you are planning to come and make sure they have your contact info.

POT LUCK DINNER 6/6

Wahoo! We are resuming our 1st Sunday Pot Luck THIS SUNDAY, so bring your favorite dish and a hearty appetite for good food and good friends.

When you arrive, just place your food/drink item on the back counter. It would be great if you would put a notecard by your item identifying the contents/ingredients so anyone with a food sensitivities can take care of themselves.

As soon as the service is over, we will bless the food and dig-in! The only new things we ask is that we all follow the line direction arrows and that everyone use hand sanitizer before going through the line. And yes, if you go back for seconds, please use hand sanitizer again.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Our Summer Concert Series kicks off June 25th at 2 PM on the deck of the Chapel with Lisa and Filmer Kilby, aka "High Lonesome". Their "Appalachian with a Twist" music is rich in great guitars, beautiful vocals, smooth harmonies, and Filmer's ever-ready harmonicas.

There is no social distancing required on the deck and masks are optional. Foot-tapping, hand-clapping, and singing along are all welcome on the deck. However, since there is no social distancing and masks are optional, we ask that if you feel the urge to get up and dance, that you do so IN THE CHAPEL - not on the deck. The double doors to the chapel will be open and the fans will be on inside for all whose feet just have to move!

As for seating, there is some built-in seating on the edges of the deck, but it is recommended that you bring your own folding chair. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No RSVP required.

For those who may still prefer a little extra space between you and others, the section of the lower parking lot closest to the deck will be reserved for you.

While the concert is free, a $5 donation is suggested. All donations go directly to the musicians.

THIS SUNDAY - MAY 23rd

Our music this week is Tom Tyre, Andy LaTorre, Katharine Brown, and Chris Casses.

Tom Tyre's message is "In Search of the Soul".

If you prefer 6' social distancing, please include this request in your RSVP

When arriving to the Sunday Service, please use hand sanitizer located at the front door and take a mask if you would like one for the service.
