THIS WEEK

SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE   JUNE 5 @ 10 AM

Chris Casses will provide our music.

Dr. Katie Davis' talk "Paradox and other Axioms," will address some foundational principles on which we might stand when we feel disconnected, chaotic, and unstable in our life. Along with the sun's rise and set, and the proverbial "death & taxes," what can we depend on when our beliefs are "dismantling"? How can we use life's axioms to help us reconnect, organize, and stabilize again?

POTLUCK DINNER   JUNE 5 @ IMMEDIATELY AFTER SERVICE

It's that time again - First Sunday Potluck!

Whip up your favorite sharable dish and join in the fun as we share smiles and laughter, the sounds of the birds and the creek, and the flavors of the wonderful foods offered.

The deck where we eat is typically dappled shade, but there are a few sunny spots so you may want a hat or sunglasses in addition to your appetite!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

DEATH CAFE   JUNE 12 @ 2 PM

Death Cafe is a global movement started in the UK whose only objective is "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives."

Jan Brewer, M.A., CMT, facilitates this group-directed conversation about death and dying / life and living. Come talk about any and all things related to death with others wanting to join the discussion. Share your fears, tears, laughter, curiosity, creativity, stories, or just lend an open ear in this safe, relaxed, and supportive setting.

For further information, please contact Jan at (510) 684-5555 or visit www.deathcafe.com.

REIKI   JUNE 15 @ 3 PM

Reiki will be offered Wednesday, June 15th from 3-5 PM in the chapel. Be sure to invite friends and family who could benefit from these relaxing, healing sessions.

SADHANA   JUNE 19 @ 3 PM

Sadhana - singing as a spiritual practice - returns Sunday, June 19 from 3-5 PM.

LAST WEEK

Crowe Capps' amazing music was both a delight for our senses and a path into deep meditation in the morning service.

Rev. Dr. Kate Greysen's talk is "Who Am I? Who Are You? If We Are All One, How Can We Tell the Difference?" focused on the notion that while we can change our name, our location, our education, etc., "who we are at the core" never really changes - not until we get to truly know ourselves and choose to dismantle those beliefs we no longer desire to hold.

Kate's talk and Crowe's music will be available online early next week.

In case you missed or would like to revisit it, April Conner's 5/22 talk "Living Generously" is now available online.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
