LAST SUNDAY AT THE CHAPEL

What a treat to have music by Blue Jazz (Dave Stewart, Delphine Kirkland, and Scott Crowley) and Katharine Brown from Franklin, NC.

In her talk, My Musings About Fear: Is It a Gift or Root of Suffering? Marie Dunkle talked about what fear had meant in her own life, Budda's wisdom for navigating this part of life, and how it can lead to a gift of growth rather than suffering if welcomed.

Marie's talk will be available online soon at Sunday Talks.

THIS SUNDAY - MAY 9th

Our musician this week is Ruth Henry.

Rev. Dr. Kate Greysen will focus on how our experiences shape and change who we are in her talk, "WISDOM: Where Does It Come From and How Do We Know When We Get It"

Please use hand sanitizer at front door as you enter and continue to observe 6' spacing and the wearing of face masks. (Masks are also available at the front door.) Please leave chairs in place so that we can maintain the appropriate 6' separation.

A FEW THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK

“Being a mother is an attitude, not a biological relation.”
― Robert A. Heinlein

“If you’re a mom, you’re a superhero. Period.”

– Rosie Pope

“It's not our job to toughen our children up to face a cruel and heartless world. It's our job to raise children who will make the world a little less cruel and heartless.”
― L.R. Knost

“Motherhood is a choice you make every day, to put someone else's happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you're not sure what the right thing is...and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for doing everything wrong.”
― Donna Ball
