THIS SUNDAY !!

SUNDAY SERVICE

Sunday, May 19th at 10 AM

Our Sunday service will start with sing-a-long music led by Katharine Brown and Chris Casses. We then welcome Unity and New Thought minister Rev. Bronte Colbert to Wayfarers and look forward to her message "Bright, Shiny Objects: How Might Shifting Our Gaze Shift Our Energy?"

SWEET CHARITY

Concert on the Deck

Sunday May 19 @ 2 PM

Sweet Charity opens our 2024 series of Concerts on the Deck with rock 'n roll favorites. Bring your sing-along voice and dancing shoes because everyone gets into the action when Sweet Charity plays.

Grab your favorite folding chair and beverage and join us for another fun musical adventure. No chair? No problem ... there are benches along the outer edges of the deck. Oh, you might also want or sunglasses for the dappled shade of the deck.

There is no charge for the concert, however, donations to support the musicians are encouraged. 100% of the donations go to the musicians.

WRITERS GROUP

Tuesday, May 14th from 5-6:30 PM

The Wayfarers Writers Group meets from 5-6:30 PM every Tuesday. The group is open to writers of all ages, experience levels, and genres and is a great opportunity to challenge yourself to a new level.

DRUM CIRCLE

Thursday, May 23rd from 6-8 PM

Join the fun in our next Full Moon Drum Circle this Thursday, May 23rd from 6-8 PM at the chapel. This is a chance to get in the groove and let yourself be FREE! If the weather is good we will be out on the deck; if not we will be inside the main chapel. Either way, it's a whole lot of fun!!

If you have a drum, bring it. If not, no worries. We have plenty of drums and percussion instruments to share and keep things interesting.

SOFIA TALVIK CONCERT

Sunday, June 2nd from 2-4 PM

Swedish recording artist Sofia Talvik brings haunting vocals, keen songwriting, and original "roots music" akin to Joni Mitchel, Allison Krauss, and Linda Ronstadt. So, mark your calendars and tell your friends and we'll see you on June 2nd on the deck. You can get more info about Sofia and her music at sofiatalvik.com.

As with all of our Summer Concerts on the Deck, the concert is free and generous donations to support the musician are encouraged.

BOARD REQUESTS YOUR HELP

Your Wayfarers board is in the process of creating an electronic maintenance log. We would like to have an up-to-date record of all the building and grounds upkeep. We envision a resource where we can not only easily find out the last time the chapel was painted, but also see the name of the company or person that did the job. So we are looking for records of service, construction, purchases, etc. relevant to the building and grounds of Wayfarers Chapel.

If you have any of these records, please bring them to the chapel so that they can be scanned into the electronic record. We will be doing this recording on May 26th here at the Chapel after the service and would appreciate it if all records could be brought on or before that date. Thank you for your help.

LAST WEEK

Last Sunday we enjoyed the music of Ruth Henry and message by Rev. Dr. Kate Greysen. Kate's message will be online in a few days.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Sometimes, the demise of our "best-laid plans" leads us exactly where we need to be - for ourselves and for others. Sunday's issues with the sound equipment reminded me that in all areas of life, when the plan unravels, the most important thing to do is release any resistance to "what is" and be fully present, fully open to spirit moving/working through us - both for US and for OTHERS.

In the coming days, when plans morph or flat out unravel, may we be able to laugh, smile, and get CURIOUS about the wonder yet to come. - Ruth
