Wayfarers Chapel Newsletter

March 27 - April 2, 2023

COMING EVENTS

APR 2 - SERVICE - 10 AM

Shelly Arvedson will start our morning with music and Dr. Katie Davis' message is "Labels and Such."

APR 2 - POTLUCK - 11 AM

Bring your favorite sharable dish along with a note card of ingredients so folks can make healthy choices and join us on the deck for good food with good friends. New to the chapel? No time to cook? No worries - there is always plenty to go around!

APR 6 - FULL MOON DRUM CIRCLE from 6-8 PM

Bring your favorite drum or percussion instrument - or borrow one of ours - and join us in the chapel for a drumming adventure. We always laugh and smile - and get mellow and energized all at the same time - as we move deep into synch with one another through rhythm.

CONCERT SERIES

For those who like to PLAN AHEAD, info for this year's concerts is now available on the chapel's Events webpage and in the chapel Calendar.

NEW THOUGHT DISCUSSION GROUP

Wayfarers Chapel is part of the diverse teachings and rich history of philosophers, scholars, religious leaders, and mystics - a topic that deserves some examination.

With more than 40 years of New Thought study and practice, Dee Daley will facilitate an informal discussion group based on the pioneers of the New Thought movement. This three session series will be held in RoseMary's chapel from 1-3 PM on April 19, May 10, and May 17. If you are interested in the discussion group, or would just like more info on New Thought leaders and/or ideas, Click Here for an electronic copy of the resource material for the discussion group.

LAST WEEK

MAR 26 - SERVICE - 10 AM

Chris Casses started our morning with music. Then Norman Olsen invited us to release and know that God is there, present in our lives, in his message "To control or not to control, that is the question." Norman's talk is available online.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

We’re fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.

Animals at Wayfarers ...

Wayfarers is a dog friendly establishment. In fact, we are so accustomed to dogs at the chapel that we may occasionally forget that not everyone is comfortable with dogs ... that some dogs do not appreciate being approached ... that some dogs just flat out don't like specific other dogs ... or that service dogs should not be approached by people or other animals.

So, as our chapel grows and more dogs join us, just a few reminders ...

  1. All animals are to be on a leash held by an attentive human when in the chapel.

  2. Only well behaved, well socialized dogs in chapel, please.

  3. If you see a designated service dog (sometimes marked on a vest or collar), please do not attempt to pet or engage the dog as this may interfere with their responsibilities to their companion.

  4. When meeting a new dog, ask before reaching to love on the dog as the dog may not be comfortable with other people or may be an unmarked service dog.

  5. Dogs that are still learning to play well with others should be on a leash at all times while on chapel grounds.

  6. If your dog comes with you, but isn't quite ready for the event, please ensure they are safely your vehicle with appropriate ventilation, temperature, and water as necessary.
