SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE   July 17th

Marie Dunkle will be gracing us with her beautiful cello music this Sunday.

Ruth Henry is our speaker.

LAST SUNDAY

What a wonderful music session with Normal Olsen, Katharine Brown, Chris Casses, and Marie Dunkle! Thanks to our wonderful musicians and all the folks who joined in the sing-a-long.

Rev. Dr. Kate Greysen explored the writings of the mystics on which New Thought spirituality is based in her talk "Back to the Basics: A Return to Faith" and focused on how - when we are challenged emotionally, physically or spiritually - a return to a review of the basic principles can lift our spirit. Kate's talk will be available online next week.

REIKI SESSION

REIKI HEALING SESSION

Our next Reiki healing session is July 20th from 4:30-6:30 PM in the chapel. Multiple practitioners will be on hand to assist anyone who wishes to experience the peace and relaxation of this gentle healing process. Please tell your friends, neighbors, and family who might benefit from Reiki.

Please note that there is another event in the chapel from 12-4, so please plan to arrive after 4:15 for the Reiki session. If you arrive after 4:30, please take a seat and quietly rest in the peaceful energy - a practitioner will be with you shortly.

CONTINUED IMPROVEMENTS to MAIN CHAPEL

The Board continues to listen to members' input and make improvements to the chapels and grounds to provide the greatest benefit to our members and visitors.

Last week a new section was added to the deck/walkway at the front of the chapel to help improve flow. We hope you like it. Once the new wood is ready in a month or so, the entire deck will be stained.

ROSEMARY'S CHAPEL RENOVATIONS

Renovating Rosemary's Chapel is a multi-stage project that starts with cleaning out the space. With only a few exceptions, everything GOES! The board has consolidated and staged the furniture, pictures, books, recordings, and objects that need to find new homes with members or a local charity.

First, please know that we appreciate the many donations through the years to Wayfarers Chapel. It is time now for a new beginning. If you have donated items other than those currently in use in the main chapel that you would like to have back, please pick them up from RoseMary's Chapel by August 7th. On August 8th, following the Potluck dinner, we will have a silent auction to find new homes for the furniture, pictures, and other objects. Everything not claimed by a member will be donated to charity.

Second, MANY books and recordings have been donated to the chapel through the years. We will keep a small library of books specifically related to and supporting the values of the chapel. We know that everyone has their own view of what books support us, SO .... we ask that if you haven't already, please take a few minutes to review the book collection following the guidelines below.

How the cleanout process works:

  1. BOOKS & RECORDINGS:  Currently, the chapel's entire collection of books and recordings has been boxed in RoseMary's Chapel and is available for viewing. Books & Recordings to remain with the chapel are on the low bookcase by the tables. Please do not remove any books from this shelf. -- Please DO take time to check out the remaining collection. If you see ANY BOOK or RECORDING in the boxes or on the corner shelves that you believe should remain with the chapel, please place them on the low bookshelf marked KEEP. If you see an item that you do not believe needs to stay with the chapel but that you would like, please place your name on a piece of paper into the book (sticking out the top so we can see it!) and place the book on the corner shelves. If no one else wishes the item to be part of the KEEP collection, it will be yours to take home August 8th. All books and recordings not claimed as part of the chapel's KEEP collection or by a member will be donated to charity August 8th.

  2. PICTURES & OBJECTS: Please remove any items that you have donated and would like to have back. All pictures and objects still present on August 8th will be part of the silent auction. All items not claimed in the auction will be donated to charity.

  3. FURNITURE:  The fate of all furniture in RoseMary's Chapel will be determined August 8th in a silent auction. Pictures of the furniture are shown below. There are 4 metal folding chairs and 10+ stackable cane chairs. Everything else is single items. All items not claimed in the auction will be donated to charity. IF you are interested in one or more pieces of furniture but cannot be present on August 8th, you can contact a board member or a friend to bid for you.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

"At times you have to leave the city of your comfort

and go into the wilderness of your intuition.

What you'll discover will be wonderful.

What you'll discover is yourself."
