IN GRATITUDE

The Wayfarers Chapel family lost a wonderful friend this week with the passing of Dr. William David McDole.  Dr. McDole was married nearly 50 years to Margurite (Coldren) McDole, whose mother, Louise Dillard provided the property upon which our chapel sits. William and Margurite are longtime supporters of our Chapel and have lived in Shannon, MS since 1973, where he worked as a Methodist pastor and pharmacist specializing in pediatric oncology.  Our hearts go out to Margurite and their daughters, Laura Maxwell and Becky Sloan, as well as the rest of the family.  This obituary link gives everyone the opportunity to share a memory or send condolences to the family.

This Sunday, Barbara Beckham will have a card that you can sign and we will send to Margurite.

SOUND BATH at CLAYTON YOGA STUDIO

While not a chapel-sponsored event, we're sure that some of you will be interested in this Sound Bath led by Marie Dunkle at Clayton Yoga.

Relaxing and healing through sound is thousands of years old, with deep roots in cultures worldwide. Sound Baths are meditative experiences where you are "bathed" (fully dressed, of course! 😉) in sound waves by instruments such as singing bowls, percussion, and/or chimes which produce sounds that resonate with overtones felt in body, mind, and spirit.

Marie Dunkle, with more than 30 years of working with sound therapy instruments to facilitate meditation and healing for others, will be facilitating this Sound Bath.

Benefits include relaxation, an increased sense of well-being, expanded awareness, and release - all of which allow the brain to "let go". The best part is, you don't have to do anything but show up in comfortable clothing and receive the sounds around you while lying peacefully.

This Sound Bath will be held at

Clayton Yoga Studio

32 E Savannah Street

Clayton, GA

Reservations to attend can be made at claytonyogastudio.com

LAST WEEK

FEB 5

Marie Dunkle spoke about Attachment: Why Not Stop Clinging to What Is Weighing You Down and then led us in meditation.

Our newest musical guest, Shelly Arvedson, a popular Macon County singer-songwriter shared her wonderful orginial songs as well as an upbeat praise song and an old-time favorite.

Marie's talk and Shelly's music are available on the website.

Barbara Beckham's recent talk, What's Wrong With Anger, is also now available online.

After the service we enjoyed a wonderful, leisurely potluck dinner with great food and conversation.

FEB 5 - DRUM CIRCLE

20 merry-makers joined together this past Sunday to take part in the drum circle. On this powerful full moon, using drums, rattles, shakers, and all kinds of percussive music makers, we practiced matching and blending rhythms and felt the amazing energy fill our bodies and minds. And yes, occasionally we got a good laugh as we tried to get our ears to perceive small changes and our hands to re-create what we heard! -- All part of the FUN of the evening!!!

Join us next month, Sunday, March 5th, at 6 PM for another wonderful adventure! No past experience or musical talent required - just an open heart ready to have FUN!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Every situation, no matter how challenging,

is conspiring to bring you into greater vibrational energy.

Will you receive it?”
