SISSA (MARY ELIZABETH) BETHEA

Sissa was one of the original "Wayfarers" back in the 1980's and often attended RoseMary's events and Thursday group lunches. She will likely be well remembered by the Hatha Yoga Class folks from the 90's.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Sissa Bethea’s name to the Rabun County Library, honoring her love of learning and community.

THIS WEEK

2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The 2025 term for the Board of Directors officially began January 1, 2015. We know that guiding Wayfarers has its joys and its challenges and we sincerely thank Jen Utley, Keith Vickers, Marie Dunkle, Anne Hartupee, and Charlotte Starfire for stepping into this adventure with a smile. Contact info for all Board members is listed in the newsletter contact section below and on the website.


SUNDAY SERVICE (1/5 @ 10 AM)

This Sunday, we look forward to the music of Marie Dunkle and message by Ruth Henry.


MEDITATION GROUP - Mondays (12/30 5 PM)

Experienced meditation leaders guide us weekly, introducing forms and approaches to support, build, and deepen meditation practice. Sessions are held in the peaceful setting of our Rosemary's Chapel building, are open to the public, and no experience is necessary.


WRITERS GROUP

The Wayfarers Writers Group is taking a short holiday break and will resume January 7th.


DRUMMING CIRCLE (Sunday 1/11 from 6-8 PM)

Our next Drumming Circle will be Sunday, January 11, from 6-8 PM just before the full moon. It will be inside the main chapel. Whether you're a professional drummer or just need to bang on something for therapeutic reasons, you are welcome at our Drum Circle. No drum? No problem. Enjoy experimenting with one of our many percussion instruments. See you on January 11th.

LAST WEEK

Last Sunday's service was full of wonderful experiences. Susan Cookson and Marcia Ranney shared the story and teaching of the menorah. We enjoyed the music of Crowe Capps, stilled ourselves with meditation by Rev. Becky Whitehead, and then participated in our annual burning bowl ceremony to close the year.
