LAST WEEK AT THE CHAPEL Straight from a beautiful Autumn into "Burrrrrrr"! The 44 degree temp meant we took the service indoors this past Sunday! Special thanks to Sandy Thomas and Joyce Oliver for setting up our 6' spacing in the chapel in advance. |

As always, Crowe Capps' masterful guitar solo was simply meditation in music. Kathleen Rehling's talk emphasized balance - knowing that there are extremes in our lives but letting go and always working to return to our center. As she pointed out, "even the earth is bipolar". She also addressed fear; it has a practical function but is not a place to dwell. Each of us took away a salient point from Kathleen's message. One of the favorites was "When you have a choice between being right or being kind - be kind because then you will always be right." Thank you Crowe and Kathleen for sharing your gifts with us. Kathleen's talk will be available online in a few days at https://wayfarersunity.org/wayfarers-unity-sunday-talks.html |

SUNDAY SERVICES ARE MOVING INDOORS! With the change of seasons, we are moving services indoors to the wonderful familiarity of the chapel building we all love so dearly. We will continue to use an RSVP system as the move indoors also means fewer available seats as we continue to safely navigate the world of 6’ spacing. With the move indoors, To help with flow, Please ENTER through the FRONT DOOR and EXIT through the DECK DOORS. To ensure safe access for all, when entering the building, please move to your chosen seats and do not congregate near the doors. Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available by the front door. Please wear facemask over both mouth and nose at all times (unless you the speaker or host 😍) Additional high-efficiency air filters have been installed on the heating unit. Chapel doors will be open for additional ventilation whenever temperatures allow. You may wish to bring a coat, shawl, or blanket for your own personal comfort. RSVPs with the names of those requesting attendance and whether they are sitting solo or as a couple are still required. Please use the RSVP link in the newsletter.

THIS SUNDAY AT THE CHAPEL – OCTOBER 11
This Sunday, in her talk "Choose to BE THE most brilliant YOU", Kim May shares with us the reality that we are ALWAYS given options and choice no matter how backed into a corner we may feel. We can learn to recognize the symptoms of misalignment early on and enjoy the magical life of our dreams. Chris Casses - always a musical delight - is our musician this week. Ruth Henry is our host for this service. Click HERE to RSVP for this Sunday's service. Please provide the names of people in your party and whether you will be sitting together or separately. The videos of the Sunday talks are generally posted on www.wayfarersunity.org within a few days of recording if you are unable to attend or would simply like to revisit a talk. |

DEATH CAFE RETURNS OCTOBER 11th Do you like to talk? Discuss? Do you like to plan for things? Then consider joining Jan Brewer October 11th from 2-4 pm on the deck of the chapel to talk about/plan for death. After all, we plan for and talk about births, graduations, weddings, homeownership, etc. Why not talk about/plan for death? Death Cafe is an international movement in which people typically meet, drink tea, eat cake, and discuss death with only one agenda: Be an open and straightforward discussion space to talk about death with no intention to any conclusion, product, or course of action. Due to the need to wear masks in gatherings at this time, food and drink will not be served. For more information please see www.deathcafe.com or contact Jan Brewer at 510.684.5555. This OUTSIDE EVENT will be canceled if it rains. RSVPs are not required, however, if you wish to be notified of cancellation due to weather, please text your RSVP to Jan at 510.684.5555. |

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
The optimist is right. The pessimist is right. The one differs from the other as the light from the dark. Yet both are right. Each is right from his own particular point of view, and this point of view is the determining factor in the life of each. It determines as to whether it is a life of power or of impotence, of peace or of pain, of success or of failure.
