When you roast a piece of Swamp Ash it becomes lighter and more rigid. It turns a warm, glorious golden color, and its grain becomes even more pronounced. When finished in clear it darkens even further, and ends up looking very similar to Koa.

One thing that doesn't change is the tone. Roasted bodies retain the full-spectrum, slightly snappy tone that Swamp Ash is prized for.
