Glancing through today's matches to see if It missed any value I spotted some interesting teams news in league one's clash between Sunderland and Southend.
The black cats welcome Bryan Oviedo back following the completion of his three-game suspension while Josh Maja will hope to be in contention after missing Tuesday’s match with an ankle injury.
Southend, on the other hand, have won five of their previous seven league matches and sit ninth after 15 games.
Managed by Chris Powell, an impressive win at Roots Hall over Walsall last time out has put them to within two points of the playoff spots.
But, leading marksman Tom Hopper, 24, is a major doubt after he suffered a knee injury in midweek. If Hopper, who has scored seven times this season, does miss out then Simon Cox is expected to be step in up front and this could drastically effect Southends goal scoring chances.
These facts make Sunderland an attractive betting proposition but it looks like the bookies have twigged this and the price is now odds on. However if we assume there will be at least a couple of successful strikes here then we can add over 1.5 goals to the mix.
