Well its been a tough few months for everyone but spare a thought for the Pound Shops, full of rubbish, yes generally but they certainly attracted a market and over the last few years established a place for themselves in most high streets.
Can they survive the pandemic?
I very much doubt it personally, inflation was always going to catch up with the concept eventually anyway, but many years of low inflation has seen them hanging on by their finger nails. But now I really can't see them surviving with costs rising, people still not hitting the high streets in any numbers and it feels like the beginning of the end if not the end of the end!
Who knows, maybe it will bring about the rise of the two pound shop! Not sure its quite as catchy a concept mind! :)
