Subject: Your VPOST May 2021 News: ARP Funding and Looking to the Summer

Unprecedented Funding is Coming through the American Rescue Plan. What you need to know now.

VPOST has updated our Resource Exchange with must-know information on the American Rescue Plan and what it potentially means for afterschool and summer learning programs in Virginia. Get a breakdown of the ESSER III funds coming to Virginia and how much your district is getting. There is a lot of discrepancy in how these funds will be allocated and the majority of it is happening on the district level. Just because they can be used on OST, does not mean they will be.

Check out our resources for influencing where funding goes in your community, including the Virginia ARP factsheetSummer Learning fact sheet, op-ed from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and a template letter for reaching out to your local educational leadership.
