VPOST is proud to announce our 12th Annual Conference will be taking place on September 20, 2021 in Roanoke, VA. This year’s conference theme, “Come Together” is inspired by the hope that reconnection brings. But there is no denying that we can’t just go back to where we were. If we are to come together in an authentic way, we must also address the impact and trauma of interrupted learning and social isolation. We must reaffirm our commitment to creating more equitable and inclusive out-of-school time programs that truly invite everyone to come together. We hope you’ll mark your calendars to come together with us!

TODAY, Tuesday, July 13 from 4:30 – 5:30 PM

As our nation reckons with the ongoing impact of systemic racism, education and youth-serving leaders are grappling with the imperative to ensure that every young person receives effective whole child education in the face of backlash from some quarters. This webinar will provide participants the opportunity to explore how this backlash against anti-racism is showing up for educators and why insights from the science of learning and development on the importance of attending to issues of identity, belonging, context, and relationships in education make it critical to the work of the SoLD Alliance. Nationally-recognized experts and field leaders will share their perspectives on how to bring what they know from research to the work of ensuring culturally-affirming and responsive learning and development -- and why that matters to designing excellent learning environments where all young people can thrive.
