Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth: Grants for Healthy Communities Action Teams to Prevent Childhood Obesity

The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY) is excited to announce a new round of three-year funding to support community efforts to reduce and prevent childhood obesity.

The contract period is July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2026 with awards up to $93,000 ($31,000 per year).

This funding provides infrastructure support to build and sustain Healthy Communities Action Teams (HCATs) that must consist of a minimum of five representatives from the locality including but not limited to:

• Afterschool Programs

• Businesses

• Coalitions

• Community Organizations

• Cooperative Extension Agencies

• Faith-Based Organizations

• Health Departments

• Non-Profits

• Policy Makers

• Schools
