GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of radical generosity to transform communities and the world.

This year we invite you to help sustain the gains we have achieved in expanding access to out-of-school time programming in Virginia. For the first time in history, VPOST was successful in advocating for dedicated funding for OST programs in Virginia. The Virginia General Assembly passed a budget that included $4 million in pandemic relief funding for 21st Century Community Learning Centers! Fifteen additional community-based organizations will provide programming for school-age children attending high-poverty, low-performing schools.

Unfortunately, these funds are temporary. We are at a critical point in gaining momentum. Your support this Giving Tuesday will fuel VPOST efforts to make long-standing state-level funding a reality.

These programs are desperately needed.  In Virginia, for every child enrolled in an afterschool program, there are 4 children on a waitlist. That amounts to 163,864 children alone and unsupervised after school.

As a small organization with a big reach, every penny counts and is appreciated. Here are some examples of how your support helps: 

·       A $300 contribution will sponsor registration for the 14th Annual VPOST Conference and build skills for an afterschool specialist.

·       A $175 contribution will provide lodging for a Virginia Youth Ambassador at the Afterschool for All Challenge in Washington, D.C.

·       A $50 contribution will provide transportation for a Virginia Youth Ambassador to the Virginia General Assembly

·       A $25 contribution will provide professional resources for an afterschool specialist.
