New Childcare Licensure Guide Released!

VPOST has developed a guide to simplify and provide complementing resources to the Standards for Virginia Child Day Programs. A Guide to the Virginia Childcare Licensure Process for School-Aged Afterschool Programs gives a user-friendly overview of enrolling and participating in the licensure program and highlights the information most applicable to school-aged, out-of-school time programs reducing the need to sift through less relevant early childhood requirements.

Women's History Month Spotlight: The Founding Mothers of Afterschool

In this Medium article, An Me Chung reflects on the women in afterschool leadership who were instrumental in turning the 21st CCLC funding stream from a practically unheard-of program to the powerhouse of federal afterschool funding we know today.

The National AfterSchool Association (NAA), is a voice of the afterschool profession that works for the advancement of afterschool professionals. They have selected Rebekah Stone, Therapeutic Recreation Branch Manager of Fairfax, VA., as one of NAA’s 2023 Next Generation of Afterschool Leaders. Bekah has exemplified the skills, values, and dedication of emerging young leaders who are active in the broader afterschool community.

Read about Bekah in the Spring 2023 issue of NAA’s AfterSchool Today magazine on page 50. You can view a digital edition of the magazine here.

Congratulations Bekah!
