Virginia Department of Education Announces NEW Grant Opportunity!
The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) grant funds to be awarded to community-based organizations partnering with school divisions to support after-school, before-school, and summer learning programs to provide additional instructional opportunities to combat learning loss for school-age children attending high-poverty, low-performing schools. Funding for this program was appropriated by the Virginia General Assembly from the federal State and Local Recovery Fund (SLRF) pursuant to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to supplement the 21st CCLC Program.
The Department will fund projects that provide significantly expanded learning opportunities for children and youth and will assist students in meeting or exceeding state and local standards in core academic subjects. Applicants eligible to submit a proposal for this competition are nonprofit agencies, city or county government agencies, faith-based organizations, and institutions of higher education.
VDOE, in partnership with the Virginia Partnership for Out-of-School Time (VPOST), will be hosting a workshop on Tuesday, November 15th at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College - Parham Campus in Richmond for any community-based organizations interested in learning more about the process, application, and timeline. Attendance is not required for applicants but is strongly encouraged to ensure they are updated on the specific parameters of this grant opportunity. |
