In the Month of May we are taking flight into summer! As out-of-school time programs plan for and implement summer learning, be that for hybrid or in-person programming, this is a great time to focus on some of the building blocks of getting more girls engaged in STEM: the engineering mindset, role models, and family outreach.

Join IF/THEN Ambassadors in a conversation about representation and why it is important for girls to see role models in STEM. In this webinar, learn why representation matters and how to use the IF/THEN Collection to increase representation of women in STEM.  You’ll hear from inspiring women STEM professionals who serve as IF/THEN Ambassadors. Resources from the IF/THEN Collection that support equity in STEM will be shared.

Million Girls Moonshot in Virginia


Congrats to Kala Sommerville of Computers4Kids in Charlottesville, Kimberly Kardelis of the Fairfax Middle School, Afterschool Program in Vienna, and Tina Harte of NASA in Hampton for being accepted into a national Community of Practice on Equity and Inclusion in STEM, where they will represent Team Virginia. This program offered through the Million Girls Moonshot will not only strengthen their programs, but also help guide the work of the Virginia Coalition for Equity In OST STEM, in which they are members.
