Subject: Million Girls Moonshot Monday: Exploring an Engineering Mindset

Diving Deeper into an Engineering Mindset

This October we dive deeper into three more critical features of an engineering mindset: 1) criteria and constraints; 2) science and math; and 3) multiple solutions. These features allow students to apply their knowledge of science, math, and their community to real-world problems with no single solution. In this process, students have voice and choice and are truly in the driver's seat over their learning.

In support of this, we have some exciting opportunities from our newest Moonshot Implementation partner, Technovation. Technovation is facilitating a three-part training for afterschool educators on how to teach STEAM virtually. The training will be very hands-on with participants building, designing, and being engineers themselves.

Engineering Design Challenges Three-Part Webinar Series led by Technovation

These three sessions are for program staff (directors, STEM specialists, and facilitators) working with kids in 4th–8th grades.
