Thanks to the support from our network of partners, we've made strides in the out-of-school time field here in Virginia.  We have secured a new stream of funding in the General Assembly budget which has led to 14 new programs opening and established a new precedent in state-level investment. This journey was not done alone.  We brought many youth advocates along the way. VPOST STEM Youth Ambassadors shared their stories with the General Assembly about the impact OST STEM programming has had on their lives. On the national scene, The World Changers came to Capitol Hill to bravely express the benefits of afterschool.

VPOST’s program quality initiatives supported the professional growth of hundreds of educators across the Commonwealth to ensure programs are addressing workforce challenges, improving outcomes for youth, and keeping communities safe. Programs like the STEM at the Library Community of Practice built the skillsets of library staff enabling them to be community STEM educators and supplying them with the resources to reach almost 3,000 underserved kids and families.

These milestones could not have been reached without your support. But there is still work to do.
