Subject: Due today at 8 PM: Recovery grant for non-profits

Rural LISC and TRUIST Establish Recovery Fund for Rural Nonprofits- Due today at 8 PM EST

VPOST has just learned of a commitment of $1 Million from the Truist Charitable Fund, which is making it possible for Rural LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) to help nonprofit organizations address their immediate financial challenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grant amounts up to $10,000 are available to help cover the operational costs of nonprofits providing essential social services. Essential social services include but are not limited to providing basic necessities, health care services, employment assistance, digital equity services, financial assistance, educational support assistance and access. Funds are to be used for salaries, rent and utility payments, digital access, IT equipment, supplies, outreach, and other items that the non-profit needs in order to continue providing services.

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations with operating budgets of under $2M in rural communities located in 17 States, including Virginia.

Applications will be scored based on criteria designed to prioritize particularly challenged nonprofits, and the final grantees will be selected from the top scoring applicants.

While this is a very quick turn around, with the application due October 30, 2020 at 8pm EST, the application is very straight forward.
