VPOST is excited to announce our very own, Dr. Holly McCartney has been appointed to the Virginia Department of Education's (VDOE) Early Childhood Advisory Committee (ECAC). This committee includes 22 representatives spanning the diversity of child care and early education programs, advocacy groups, and child development experts in the Commonwealth.

Dr. McCartney has over 30 years experience in teaching and teacher preparation. Her work now centers on integrating the arts in schools, facilitation of groups using art based pedagogies, and consulting with organizations focused on the care and well being of children and families.

Appointment to ECAC reflects Dr. McCartney's commitment to Virginia's educational future. VPOST, VDOE, and ECAC commend her for accepting the challenge to serve the Commonwealth and its children in this capacity.
