VPOST has been cultivating the development of new regional OST Coalitions and Youth Ambassadors. Our work is about building and strengthening a network of out-of-school time providers to improve quality, promote leadership, and ensure access to OST in Virginia.
The providers we bring together represent a public-private partnership that demonstrates the breadth of possibility of OST services. Out providers include public and private schools, community-based organizations, and for-profit providers. These partnerships leverage resources and promote sustainability.
Although we do not provide direct services, we serve as the connector, convener, and leader who ensures that quality programs are available throughout the state and that those individual systems within each community are connected to better meet the needs of Virginia families.
You, our regional coalition leaders, represent those individual systems. VPOST believes we are better when we work together. We would like to connect, as a group, on a monthly basis. This will allow each of you to bring the unique successes, challenges, and needs of your communities to the table and potentially provide new avenues for other leaders and their individual systems.
