Subject: VPHi executive committee: call for nominations - deadline 10 Nov 2024

Dear VPHi members,
We wish to remind you that you still have a few days left to send your nomination for the VPHi executive committee. 

The executive committee collaborates with the VPHi Board of Directors and VPHi staff to implement the goal of our organisation. Each of the committee member will be assigned a specific role and an area of activity to focus on, which could cover the following topics or more:

Area of interests:
– Student activities
– Communication
– Engagement with Industry
– Engagement with Societies
– Public patient outreach
– Education
– Meetings
– Awards

By standing as a candidate for this election you will take a leading role in supporting the full adoption of in silico medicine, developing our community and realising the mission of our organisation. These positions are accessible to scientists in all career stages starting from the postdoctoral stage onward (or its equivalent in terms of scientific experience). Young scientists up to 2 years post-PhD are encouraged to respond to the student committee call here.

Committee members serve for two years, with possibility for re-election for two additional mandates (a total of six years). They will be officially elected by the General Assembly and will be invited to attend board meetings. They will be assisted by the VPHi staff and the membership in the implementation of the implementation of their activities.


IMPORTANT DATES:
- The application deadline is the 10th of November 2024.
- The election will be held by electronic ballot from the 18th of November 2024 until the 7th of December 2024.
- The appointed committee members will start their mandate on the 1st of January 2025

To respond to the call please provide the below information by sending an email to manager@vph-institute.org:
  1. A motivation letter (max 500 words), where you identify your area of interest (either from the list above or suggesting a new one) and the proposed activities you would like to focus on during your mandate. In the letter, please specifically mention your name, surname and affiliation as well as your membership code, which can be found on your personal area on the VPHi website as a proof of payment of your 2024 membership. Only members in good standing can apply for this position.
  2. Your CV (max 1 A4), including a picture of you.
