Monthly newsletter of the Virtual Physiological Human for Integrative Biomedical Research & the Digital Patient News |

Dear VPH Friends, In April it opened the call for supporting members of the VPH Institute. The supporting members are the institutions that actually run the life of our organisation, setting goals and agendas. If you are interested to get an active role, this is the right time to get on board! The new supporting members will be presented at the 2013 General Assembly, which this year has been scheduled in connection with the International Union of Physiological Sciences - IUPS conference. As most of you will be attending the conference, make sure to save the date in your agenda: the GA will take place the last day, Friday 26th of July, from 13 to 18pm. This month I would like to highlight to your attention to two other important news:
- First of all the great job that the Policy Affairs Working Group of the VPH Institute has been doing in the past months: many policy makers have been contacted and introduced to the concept of the VPH by our representatives. As a results a VPH event at the Parliament will take place on June 26th, hosted by both Mr. Sean Kelly MEP (EPP, Ireland) and Professor Vittorio Prodi MEP (S&D, Italy).
- Secondly but not less important, this month our President Prof Denis Noble, published on Experimental Physiology his revolutionary theory on the role of physiology in the evolutionary biology. If proved correct, this new view will also have a strong impact on the VPH research.
You will find these, but also many other interesting news in the newsletter below. Enjoy the reading! Best regards, Martina Contin VPH Institute Manager
