Volunteer scholarship Applications

Being Accepted

Do you know someone who would make a great facilitator? Recommend them for a training scholarship. The Volunteer Scholarship Application process is open until

Saturday, April 30th.

To qualify the applicant must:

  • Be recommended by a current facilitator or SROL liaison

  • Plan to join an existing meeting as a co-facilitator, intend to become an SROL volunteer, or plan to start a new SMART Recovery meeting

  • Not be a professional that will be starting a closed meeting at their treatment center/facility

Scholarships are for $100 off the Facilitator/Family & Friends combo course only (regularly $129).

Scholarships will be awarded in May after all the applications have been processed.

Individuals with professional designations and those wishing to provide a closed meeting (available to only to specific people, i.e., patients, clients) are required to pay the full training registration fee of $129.

Volunteer Recognition

SMART knows that it's our volunteers that create the biggest impact in the lives of those we serve, and we wanted a way to recognize the work you do. Throughout the month, we will be featuring several of the volunteers you recognized through the new Volunteer Recognition Program.

Ken Bodine - Facilitator, Ohio

Ken provides so many support groups for our rural community. He gives so many men and women an amazing, supportive, and safe space to get the support they need.

Holly (UpTownGirl) - SROL Facilitator

Since her very first meeting, Holly (UpTownGirl) has been one of the strongest participants, advocates and now facilitators for the Veterans and First Responder's SROL Groups (A.K.A The SMARToon) Holly's energy, compassion, empathy, intelligence and charisma has become the staple that other Veterans and Responders model their recovery after. She has inspired others like herself, especially female service people, to commit to paying it forward within the recovery community. Holly is an invaluable asset and I have no doubt she will lead the SMARToon into grander heights as her own recovery enhances.

Do you know of a volunteer who has gone above and beyond in creating a Life Beyond Addiction for others? Take a moment to recognize them by filling out this form.

Get SMART Fast Training

Join National Office staff from the Training and Volunteer departments, as well as Volunteers in an interactive roleplay exercise while the remaining time focuses on open discussion and Q&A where we will discuss and address any questions or concerns you may have in moving forward with your SMART Meeting plans.
