Extended with Match! Support the Training Scholarship Fund

As we hit the April 15th deadline for the scholarship fund, while we are short in reaching our $10,000 goal, we have just received good news that we are receiving “matching donations” funding support for this important campaign. As a result, we decided to extend the time to April 29th to maximize our efforts in helping get more individuals trained and more SMART Recovery meetings in communities around the country. As a result, any donations we receive thru the duration of the campaign will be doubled.

Final Days! Volunteer scholarship Applications

Being Accepted

We're in the FINAL DAYS to recommend someone for a training scholarship.

The Volunteer Scholarship Application process is open until Saturday, April 30th.

To qualify the applicant must:

  • Be recommended by a current facilitator or trained SROL volunteer

  • Plan to join an existing meeting as a co-facilitator, intend to become an SROL volunteer, or plan to start a new SMART Recovery meeting

  • Not be a professional that will be starting a closed meeting at their treatment center/facility

Scholarships are for $100 off the Facilitator/Family & Friends combo course only (regularly $129).

Scholarships will be awarded in May after all the applications have been processed.

Individuals with professional designations and those wishing to provide a closed meeting (available to only to specific people, i.e., patients, clients) are required to pay the full training registration fee of $129.

Volunteer Recognition

SMART knows that it's our volunteers that create the biggest impact in the lives of those we serve, and we wanted a way to recognize the work you do. Throughout the month, we will be featuring several of the volunteers you recognized through the new Volunteer Recognition Program.

Brenda Michael - Facilitator, California

She has been involved with SMART for seven plus years now. She is a professionally licensed addiction specialist and a SMART meeting facilitator. She has devoted much of her life to this program and to share the SMART tools and philosophies with countless others. Along with the meeting she has co-facilitated with me for over two years on Thursdays, she also facilitates an open SMART meeting on Mondays AND the only open Women’s meeting in Southern California.

I have learned much from her in my four-year journey in recovery with SMART.

Hatrick - SROL Facilitator

Hatrick’s meetings are where I was first introduced to SMART… As I progressed attending Hatrick’s meetings, his discussions covered all the 4-points of SMART. I had learned how to work the tools and did my H.O.V and even did a C.B.A. amongst all the meeting discussions for the past year.
I am forever grateful to Hatrick for his wisdom, guidance and encouragement together with fellow participants his whom are witness to my entire journey with SMART Recovery to-date.

Do you know of a volunteer who has helped others create their Life Beyond Addiction? Take a moment to recognize them by filling out this form.
