After careful consideration, SMART Recovery’s leadership has chosen to forego a 2020 SMART Recovery National Conference. Instead, the energy, planning, and expense necessary to put together our National Conference will be devoted to organizing and executing a strategic planning process. The outcome will be a 5-year plan that will guide the future of SMART Recovery for 2021 and beyond.
Information gathering has already started, and volunteers, board members, key stakeholders, and National Office staff will collaborate during intensive strategic planning sessions in mid-May. We're excited to focus on creating a 5-year strategic plan which will serve our SMART community in a powerful way while yielding significant results for years to come.
We have made great strides in recent years in terms of SMART Recovery's organizational structure, brand awareness, and the impact we have had on the addiction crisis. Although we'll miss seeing many of you, we're thrilled to commit a great deal of time and attention to SMART's momentum and growth. Please know that we will re-convene our annual National Conference very soon.
