| Dear SMART Recovery Volunteer:
If you have attended SMART Meeting Management (SMM) Ongoing Facilitator Training and Support meetings, you know how awesome they are for brainstorming and supporting each other as facilitators. If you have never attended one, you are missing out on a valuable facilitator resource that is available to you.
SMM meetings are open to all active SMART Recovery facilitators, hosts, and trainees interested in improving their knowledge base and advancing their meeting management skills. We discuss tough and sensitive issues that occasionally arise. We also share successes and techniques, such as how to “do SMART Recovery" and how to create an accepting, non-judgmental environment. Although facilitated, this is very much a group learning/support session.
The new link for these meetings will be available on SMARTcal and in VolunteerHQ on Monday, February 1, 2021.
Standard SMM meetings take place three times each week: - Mondays at 10:00 p.m. ET
- Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET
- Fridays at 6:00 p.m. ET
In addition to our Standard SMM meetings we now have SMM meetings specifically for facilitators of Teen and/or Young Adult meetings. Working with young people is very rewarding and comes with unique challenges.
The Teen/Young Adult SMM meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. ET.
Stop by one of these meetings soon! If you are not experiencing an issue with your meeting, you may be able to offer a solution to a facilitator who is.
